Has anyone ever gotten a freebie from Seventeen before??
i did this and it said that they are shiping the magazine to my house for 10 issues for 10! i didnt want to buy anything
@ amanda the same thing happened to me but when you get the bill you can mark it cancel and return it at no cost to you or at least that’s what the website says
I tried using polish as the code word and it didn’t work.. Any ideas?? Bummed
I didn’t see an option for getting the sample without signing up for the magazine, until I sent my info… how do I cancel the bill?
You can easily sign up without subscribing. Before you enter any info there is a paragraph right above it that says: “No purchase is necessary to enter. If you’d prefer enter the sweepstakes without starting a trial subscription to Seventeen or if you are already a subscriber, click here.”
Mine didnt say anything like that. On top of that it didnt say they were going to send me issues if I signed up either. They should definitely have that on their site letting people know. I tried cancelling the subscription and the site keeps saying there are problems so I emailed them and told them to cancel it. Hopefully it works.
The same thing happened to me – I even clicked back and scoured the page, there was nothing at all that said I was signing up for a subscription OR anywhere to opt out or even a “i agree blah blah” thing to click.
I hope emailing them works for you, I’ll probably try the same!! I recommend screenshotting the whole page too, just to cover your butt if they want proof!!
I sent an email to their customer service saying I didn’t want their magazine and wasn’t going to pay for it. Hopefully it will work.
I found a cancel subscription option under Customer Service.
I have recieved freebies from Seventeen magazine before. I got a headband in the past. You should be able to cancel by clicking the Customer Service link on the top of seventeen.com webpage

I’ve signed up for a few things through 17 and do not think I’ve actually received any of them. Has any one received their freebies?
i received an email from them this morning saying they received my request and are cancelling my subscription

Seems like a whole lot of trouble for a $1.00 bottle of nail polish that we may or may not even receive. Just sayin’…. 😀
There was no place the entry form (above or below) that stated I didn’t have to purchase their magazine. After I submitted it said Thanks for the subscription and would be sending it out to me. Not only do I want a subscription, they didn’t say anything about they recieved my form for the (free ???) nail polish. It stated it was a contest and I could or could not win. I went to unsubscribe and I hope it did this. This was definately not as good of an offer as it sounded like.

somehow I accidently signed up for the magazine as well. No worries though. When the first issue comes, I’ll go on line with my address label information on the magazine and cancel. They won’t charge for the magazine you received.
i’m getting mag issues i do not want. how can i stop them before they come????? help

Just cancel your subscription if you missed this step—no big deal.
I find if i did the option for not getting the magazine when i hit the submit button it keeps saying one moment and does this forever and doesnt go thru.
I believe it was Seventeen that I won a Project Runway Wii game from in a sweepstakes before.
I went thru it all. I didnt have to sign up for no magazine. Sorry bout every one elses luck.
