Scientists Exploring the Arts is a unique partnership between the State Theatre and the National Starch and Chemical Foundation. The program celebrates and explores the essential elements shared by the performing arts and science and technology: creativity, innovation, problem solving, teamwork, and process. The three-event series offers young scientists an opportunity to discover three distinctive art forms and to meet personnel from National Starch, LLC, a world leader in the development and manufacture of specialty food and industrial starches.
This free program is open to college students (graduate and undergraduate) who are majoring in any area of science or technology. Scientists Exploring the Arts is offered twice a year, once in the fall and again in the spring.
Students selected to participate in the program attend the State Theatre, along with employees of National Starch, LLC. Each event includes:
• A ticket to the performance at the State Theatre in New Brunswick.
• A pre-performance “Exploration” with a talented arts educator.
The entertaining and enjoyable lecture provides an in-depth,
easy-to-understand introduction to the show.
• A pre-performance dinner, where there will be opportunities
to network with National Starch employees as well as other students.
